Rapid mobilisation, high deliverability. GMC Elektro is a world-class provider of ship electronics. Our strength is rapid mobilisation within service, modification and classification of ships and rigs.

GMC Elektro performs the full range of maintenance, repairs and new installations within marine electronics, instrumentation and automation. We supply all materials and work closely with the customer. This way, we can guarantee tailor-made solutions and effective project management.

The operating model of GMC Elektro is based on the real-time updating of all operations. The combination of effective project management and technical expertise means faster results, reduced cost and continuous improvement of solutions.

"Earlier than planned and lower than budget are key words for many of our projects," says general manager Magnar Aske of GMC Elektro.

Multidisciplinary services

GMC Elektro is located in Stavanger, with docking facilities for all types of vessels. Also, GMC Elektro has a worldwide service department in Haugesund. In close cooperation with the rest of the GMC Group, we carry out multidisciplinary projects within the following areas: modifications, ad hoc services, fire protection, HVAC, hydraulic, mechanical, steel and diesel. GMC Elektro always looks to new markets and the development of solutions to retrofit existing systems.

GMC Elektro has expertise in control systems, communication systems, generators and electric motors.

"GMC Elektro builds expertise in projects together with our suppliers and partners, and our staff is certified to be a competent and proactive partner to our customers. We have eight technicians certified by DEIF, and certified personnel for the testing and commissioning of the ballast system OptiMarin," says marketing manager Jan EltervÄg of GMC Elektro.

24/7, 365 days a year — worldwide

Most employees at GMC Elektro are former ship electricians with experience in tankers, bulk, container vessels, diving vessels, supply vessels and passenger ships. Using specially equipped cars, we offer express emergency service to ships in ports all over Europe. Because the cars have advanced technical equipment, tools and spare parts, GMC clients don’t have to worry about losing precious time with expensive shipments.

GMC also sends experts to customers all over the world.

"We have yet to turn down a request, and we have accomplished all of the undertaken missions," says Kolbein Tjelle of GMC Elektro in Haugesund.
