A long-term and responsible real estate player

GMC Eiendom has played an important role in the development of Stavanger's industrial history since the early 1970s. We have built up solid expertise in property development with high quality architecture, materiality and sustainability. We own and manage a broad portfolio; from quay facilities, workshops, warehouses and office buildings – and we develop, lease and sell state-of-the-art office buildings and apartments.

Our sustainability goals

80% renewable energy by 2030

Byfjordparken is our flagship for environmental initiatives. With an energy center, sea heat exchange and solar cells, 80% of electricity consumption will come from renewable sources by 2030, in line with the Stavanger Municipality's climate ambitions.

Sustainable urban development

Byfjordparken is an ENOVA-supported pilot project, developed with Stavanger Municipality, Rogaland County Municipality and Grønn By. Outdoor areas and playgrounds are designed to promote well-being and sustainability, along with green roofs, passive houses, plus houses and car and bicycle sharing solutions.

Documented environmental performance

Byfjordparken has BREEAM-NOR certification at level Excellent, confirming high environmental standards in energy, health, transport and material use. The project includes solar panels, green roofs, a marine park and an energy center, with a goal of over 80% renewable energy and the possibility of Environmental Lighthouse certification.
