AKOFS Seafarer at 15 years old
After finishing her stay with us, AKOFS Seafarer is ready for five more years in the North Sea.
AKOFS Seafarer spent a few weeks in dry dock with us in early autumn.
The ship, which operates as a well intervention ship on a long-term contract for Equinor, was with us for a 15-year classification.
Extensive job
A 15 year class is a comprehensive technical review of the vessel that is carried out to extend the class certificate for another five years. Among other things, we have overhauled all 7 thrusters, 35 box coolers, main engines, cranes, and painted the entire ship. When overhauling thrusters, they must be dismantled and transported indoors to our workshop hall for inspection and repair as needed. They are then reassembled and tested.
Strong focus on HSE
We take HSE seriously, and the expectations set by Equinor and AKOFS laid the foundation for a strong HSE culture across disciplines, customers and the supplier community. The result is one we are very proud of.
A total of 35,000 working hours were spent on the dock stay, and no serious incidents or deviations occurred.
