Øyvind Lundbakk takes on the role of Head of IT and Digitalization at GMC. Øyvind comes from a role as CEO at Ryfylke IKS. He is also Chairman of the Board of Hjelmeland Sparebank. He brings with him broad expertise and extensive experience in technology management, business development, IT and digitalization. Both in business and public administration.

The company, which has been built gradually, has been through both ups and downs. However, they have a clear idea of how to maintain the adventure that began in 1973 for another 50 years.

GMC, through GMC Yard AS, has been awarded a framework agreement with the Norwegian Armed Forces for the classification and maintenance of the Norwegian Armed Forces' logistics vessel KNM “Maud”. The framework agreement has a duration of seven years including options, and has a total budget of NOK 600 million.

The 50th anniversary is celebrated with a renewed framework agreement with Equinor. The agreement is for four years, with an option for two two-year extensions. GMC estimates the total value at NOK 700-800 million.

GMC Power & Automation gets a new CEO. Kenneth Eichner takes over the baton.

Since 1973, GMC has minimized downtime for ships, rigs and installations. It began as a shipyard at Verksgata 42 in central Stavanger.

The Stavanger-based group GMC is now strengthening its investment in Gismarvik Base in Haugaland Business Park. The base will be an important place for the green shift in industry.
