We now offer shore power at Kalhammeren in Stavanger
We now offer shore power at the Kalhammeren quay, in central Stavanger. The quay is 90 meters long and is well sheltered from the wind. This makes it particularly suitable for small and medium-sized vessels, such as ferries.

Shore power is an important measure to reduce emissions and noise when vessels are at berth.

When a vessel connects to shore power, the auxiliary engines can be turned off. This provides better working conditions for those on board, and at the same time contributes to lower emissions in port.

The quay is owned by GMC and we can therefore adapt the operation and provide a stable solution that works for our customers. In addition, we can offer mobile work on board, and we can draw on expertise from the entire GMC group when needed.

"I think this quay will be used a lot. We have had many ferries laid up in the past, and this quay is well suited for that," says Rene Adjemi, project manager at GMC Maritime.
Shore power at Kalhammeren is a concrete response to increased demands and a clear step towards greener operations. We are ready to welcome vessels that want a safe and efficient solution at the quay.
