HMS "Prince of Wales" in Mekjarvik
This spring, GMC Marine Partner has had the pleasure of assisting during two visits by the British aircraft carrier HMS "Prince of Wales" in Mekjarvik.
The vessel arrived at GMC's quay in Mekjarvik in both May and June in connection with NATO activities and exercises in Norwegian waters.
HMS Prince of Wales is the UK's largest naval vessel and a key contributor to the NATO alliance's maritime preparedness. With its impressive dimensions and important role in international security, the vessel attracted considerable attention during both visits to the region.
During the calls, GMC Marine Partner provided agency services and coordinated support to the vessel while it was docked in Mekjarvik. In addition, minor maintenance work was carried out by GMC Maritime.
We greatly appreciate the trust we have received through these assignments and are proud to be able to contribute our services to one of the UK's most important naval vessels. The visits also underline the importance of Mekjarvik as a strategic port for international naval vessels operating in Norwegian waters.
