Two A-frames sold to Greece
GMC Lifting Solutions has sold two large A-frames to a Greek shipping company. The structures will be installed on board offshore vessels in Greece, marking another international assignment for the GMC Group.

The largest A-frame is 26 meters high and weighs a whopping 435 tons, while the other is 21 meters high with a weight of 180 tons.

Both structures have recently been transported from Sølyst in Stavanger to the GMC base in Mekjarvik, where they are now undergoing disassembly and preparation for further transport.
The work is being carried out by GMC Maritime, which is dismantling the A-frames into sections so that they can be loaded onto a transport vessel. Over the coming days, the sections will be lifted aboard, seaworthy and shipped to Greece, where the structures will be assembled and installed on the offshore vessels that will use them.
The project is a good example of how the companies in the GMC group collaborate across disciplines to deliver complete solutions to customers at home and abroad. Although the sale was carried out by GMC Lifting Solutions, several of the GMC companies have contributed to the planning, management and implementation of the project.
We thank the customer for their trust and look forward to following the A-frames further on their journey towards their new workplace in Greece.
